i want to start posting articles, it says exactly “To fill your magazine with content, go to twitter and tweet a link with your main-code #badmedia” but when i tweeted an article link then after i put #badmedia it still isnt showing up on my tweetmag.. am i doing it wrong?
Hi April,
thanks for your message!
I have seen that you use a protected twitter-timeline: http://twitter.com/#!/apRil_x0xo
Protected timelines do not work, twitter doesn’t allow access to the content of protected timelines, so we have no possibility to get your links.
Very sorry about that, but there is nothing we can do …
Best regards
Sebastian
The idea is a good one, but trying to use for a non-techie is a challenge. I have been unable to create a magazine after more than half an hour of trying. Maybe I am little slow, but in any case I expect things to be easy otherwise I jump to something else. Good luck to you but I am unsubscribing.
Hi JP,
thank you for your comment, it would be very helpful for me to understand more deeply, where the problems are. Is the setup-process too difficult or the way, MyTweetMag works (like filtering twitter-links and adding co-editors)?
Would be happy about some more details to improve our service.
Best regards
Sebastian
I just did a magazine called Photography Today and when I went to look at it I got “Server not found” message. Whats wrong? Also there was no way of viewing the magazine on MyTweetMag.
Hi Las,
thanks for using mytweetmag. Your magazine is here: http://www.mytweetmag.com/photographics4u, domain-ending is .com not .it. Nevertheless it is deactivated, to re-activate please log into your tweetmag here again: http://www.mytweetmag.com/visitor/index.php/part_public/sect_login
Let me know, if there are still problems..
Another important hint: You won’t find content in your magazine, since you didn’t send links via Twitter to it. MyTweetMag works different than paper.li, we are a curation plattform, not an aggregation plattform. Please watch the trailer to understand how it works …
Best regards, Sebastian.
Hi, I have just start my own tweetmag… I tweeted 2 different messages with #ec and still there is nothing on my tweetmag.
What am I doing wrong?
Hi e_consensus,
sorry for the late reply! Your account has been twice in our database, this didn’t happen before and I actually don’t know, what the reason might be. I updated your account-settings. Please try again, your links with the hashtag #ec should appear in your magazine now.
Best regards
Sebstian
When installing on 3.03 I get the following error “plugin does not have a valid header” – can you email when fixed
Hi Mike,
you mean the MyTweetMag-plugin and wordpress version 3.03? The error message seems to occure, if you use the plugin-upload-function in your wordpress-dashboard. Please try to download the plugin, unzip it and then upload it manually with a ftp-program. You can read an explanation e.g. here: http://autoblogged.com/kb/installation/invalid-header/
The compatibility of the plugin is checked for wordpress 2.8 till 2.9.2, but should work with 3, too.

Hashtag and Custom Field
Hello , I am trying to make works my tweet mag called “streetball360.it”
Unfortunately I cannot make it works,,, I had insert as hashtag #streetball and when I had typed it into my tweeter page it didt come into my tweet mag page.
Then I had change it into #news as showed in the examples but it did’nt come again also from my cooeditor
Please find as follow the scheenshoot of my settings of my tweetmag :
http://anyhub.net/file/streetball360-my-tweetmag.jpg
Maybe I had done something wrong?
And I do not undestand how to fill the CUSTOM FIELD that I left it blank cause I didn’t undestand the meaning of “Select a name (WHAT NAME? MY ?) and a code (What kind of code?). Linked news will appear on the right side beneath the calendar”
Any suggestions will be really appreciate
Thanks for you kind feed back in this regard
Wish you a good day
Matteo
Hi Mateo,
answered you by mail, there where no links in your tweets, MyTweetMag imports only links.
thanks again for mentioning the descriptions in the mytweetmag-form, you are right, it’s a bit vague and we will improve the descriptions within the next days…
Best regards
Sebastian
It seems to me that you are on the right track. However, there are two limitations that keep me from using your system. First, why do you limit the number of editors that I can use. My ideal mag would allow unlimited editors. Second, I would like of be able to change the theme to match the colors of my web site. Are either of these changes in the future?
I would also like to see an outline of where you are planning to go with this project, including new features, etc.
Thanks
Hi Lance, thank you for your feedback, it is very welcome!!
To answer your questions: Yes – it is planned to customize the design of MyTweetMag, but I actually cannot say, when we will implement this changes. It is planned to give the user some themes and also to provide a possibility to create your own theme.
One reason to limit the co-editors is the general limitation of the twitter-api. But we will think about rising this limitation to a higher number, have to check it with the developers.
We have a lot of ideas for new features, but up to now we have not enough feedback to decide in which direction we should go. What main features do you miss?
(Last point: If you use our wordpress plugin to integrate the newsstream into your blog, you can of course design the integrated stream as you want, simply add some styling to your css, but I don’t know, if it is what you want).
Basically I have three
1. The ability to create my own theme or to pick from a good selection that you might offer.
2. The ability to add a large number of editors. This is important to me because we have a web site with about 10 contributing writers. I would like a way to include them all.
3. This is a new one. I would be nice if we could group links by topic. Ours is a horse web site. We have articles on training, health care, etc. If the mag could be logically grouped by these… cool. I like the way that paper.li groups, but the problem is that they guess at what groups should be and often get it very wrong.
It appears that you are in early beta, is that correct?
We do not use word press but some type of generic plugin would be great for insertion into a web site.
Hi Lance,
thanks for your input, and yes, we are in a very early beta. The individual themes are planned for the next release. The raise of co-editors to 10 should be possible, I will check this. The group functionality is new but very interesting, we will have a look, if this can be implemented. Unfortunately I cannot predict when the next release will be published, but I hope quite soon…
Thanks for your input and best regards
Sebastian
I created a bigger concept with a hugh amount of “virtual revenues”
“hugh” should be “huge”
So here are some tipps and steps for building webtools like this
“tipps” should be “tips”
Cheryl, thanks, corrected this. But only two mistakes? My english-teacher would be very proud! I’m not an english native speaker, only poor school-english :-)
one editor posted a tweet 34mins ago, with a link and hashtag. didnt show up on tweetmag :(
Hi and sorry about that: MyTweetMag is designed to integrate news and we do so by searching linked sites for-tags or xml-namespaces. Your Co-Editor probably found the only page in the web which doesn’t have this: stauder.de is completely built on framesets so the source-code is only view lines of code without any Headlines & Co. to import (think it is totally depraved to built such websites since years;-) So I am very sorry, but actually MyTweetMag is not able to import such sites, but I will double-check this with our developers.
Sorry to disappoint you. I hope your co-editors will try it again with some normal sites, it should work fine with 99% of the sites…
ok. i guess i just have to wait for other tweets then. thank you anyway. i’ll check back here, if there is another thing to complain about :)
hi there,
co editor posted another tweet with the hashtag, and link to the augsburger zeitung (bit.ly short url). the news was not imported.
sure, i’ll ask them to post some content with hashtags.
Hello, it seems the co editors’ tweets won’t show up on my mag :)
Hi, I had a look and I think they use the wrong hashtag: it’s written in small letters in the setting-page, so they have to write it in small letters in twitter, too. Only the links in tweets will be imported, tweets without links will be ignored…
Hope this helps :-)

Hi, I checked this again, should work with small and big letters. But did your Co-Editors use the hashtag since you established the mag and added the code? If this fails, I will check it with our developer. Thank you :-)
thank you for the reply.
the hashtag to use is #bier. One of the co-editors used it two days ago. and for some reason his tweet never made it into the magazine.
Hmm, it’s difficult for us to reconstruct: In biertweet I find two links with the hashtag from 8th July, in Biertest there is the hashtag but no link. Do you think you can ask one of your co-editors to test this again with Link & Hashtag? Would appreciate that, cause we can look for bugs in our code if it doesn’t work… Thank you :-)
seems like it works now? Serveral new tweets by my coeditors show up in the tweetmag. niceeeee.
I am happy about that! Your Tweetmag is the number 1 so far :-)
Wouldn’t it be cool to customize the design of your own tweetmag? Some templates like standard, business, fun etc. would be fine.
